Your products and designs are the heart and soul of your business. We understand the last thing on which you want to spend your precious time is navigating a difficult system to fulfill your orders. Gelato has perfected the fulfillment process for you, which makes it easier for you to focus on creating and selling beautiful products, while we take care of the rest.

There are three ways to get started producing your products with Gelato:

  1. Final artworks: Upload your own, specially crafted designs to any of our products with no option for customization on the part of customers.

  2. Customized artworks: Create new designs in our design editor. You can upload visual assets or choose from more than 360 million images from Shutterstock.

  3. Customizable designs: Let your customers add their own touch of creativity, such as photos and text, to your products by enabling our customization tool in your store.

Let’s dive into some ways you can get started creating your products with Gelato, so that we can start fulfilling your orders!

Selling final artworks which need no customization

If you are selling pre-made artwork without customization on Shopify or Etsy then you can move your products and orders to Gelato with our “Import Order”-feature. With a few clicks, all of the orders you receive in your ecommerce store can be easily connected and once that’s done, any future order involving the same product will be automatically processed for you.

More detailed information on how to import your orders can be found here for Shopify customers, and here for Etsy customers. For all the other platforms, you can place manual orders or connect via Order Desk if Order Desk supports the ecommerce platform you use.

If you have hundreds or thousands of products, and you want to move them all at once, please reach out to us at [email protected] and we’ll help you with the transfer.

Keeping your creativity in mind

While the product fulfillment process might at first seem mechanical, it’s anything but when you factor in our "design editor"-tool. And now that we’ve integrated Shutterstock into this feature, you can truly unleash your creativity with access to 360+ million images.

We also love the fact that you can use the design editor when adding a product to a manual order, or go bigger by adding new and exciting products right to your ecommerce store.

The design editor interface is not only user-friendly, but it also has a handy fail-safe warning system in place which will check the resolution of your designs or images, ensuring that everything will turn out exactly as intended. Selling artworks that your customers can customize

If your customers personalize their products directly inside your store on your product page or in an editor (for example, the Product Personalizer app in Shopify) then you have some options.

If you are a Shopify Product Personalizer user, check with the creator of the app how the final print file is to be outputted. In the case of Product Personalizer, the print file appears in a field called ‘Preview’. In your Shopify store settings - within your personal Gelato dashboard - you can make sure this is always done by pre-selecting that certain file types are used. That way all of your orders can be automatically and instantly fulfilled with the right print file (meaning no extra work for you). Note - this feature is currently only supported in Shopify. If you are using WooCommerce and are interested in this please reach out to us at [email protected].

You can also opt to use Gelato’s own customization tool. When you create a product from the Gelato dashboard you can select which elements should be personalized. When published, the product page will now feature a ‘Personalize design’ button which gives the end-customer the possibility to make edits directly within Shopify.

Well, what are you waiting for? Now that you have 3 quick and easy ways to create your products with Gelato, let’s get started!
