1. A community built on progress

Reimagining print through community: Reflections from Dscoop Edge 2025

There are few places where the energy of the print community is more alive than Dscoop Edge and Long Beach 2025 was no exception.

From the moment the doors opened, the spirit of the event was clear: collaboration fuels transformation. For GelatoConnect, that idea isn’t just a conference theme, it’s the foundation of how we work.

A community built on progress

As the world’s largest digital print community, Dscoop brings together a global network of leaders, innovators, and partners who understand that progress doesn’t happen in isolation. It was a privilege to connect with so many of them, especially customers like Bennett Graphics, DPI, GSB, Hudson Printing, Graphicscan, and PressUp.

These companies aren’t just adopting software, they’re transforming how they run. They’re redefining what control, efficiency, and growth look like. And we’re proud to build alongside them.

Culture, speed, and ownership: what Erin Meyer reminded us

In one of the most impactful keynotes of the week, Erin Meyer, co-author of No Rules Rules, shared her insights on the cultural foundations of high-performing teams.

Her reflections on speed, ownership, and trust were immediately familiar. At GelatoConnect, our global team operates with those values. Whether we’re onboarding a customer in San Diego or debugging a complex issue in Milan, we understand that our software is powering local businesses and swift solutions matter.

Lessons in resilience from Tony Hawk

Tony Hawk’s keynote was more than nostalgic;  it was a powerful story of grit, evolution, and staying relevant. He talked about failing publicly, learning constantly, and rebuilding with purpose. It struck a chord.

At GelatoConnect, we see those same traits in the printers we serve. They’re adapting fast, embracing new technologies, and rethinking how work flows through their business. That mindset, resilient, future-facing, is the real momentum behind our industry.

AI that works quietly—and powerfully

While AI dominated many of the sessions and side conversations, one theme was clear: the best AI is the kind you don’t notice—because it just works.

At GelatoConnect, we use AI-powered address validation to catch 75% of shipping errors before labels are printed. We route jobs automatically based on SLA, location, and capacity. Our AI Estimator, coming soon, is designed to generate accurate quotes instantly by analyzing historical production data, helping PSPs quote faster and protect their margins. And with our new AI Product Builder, customers can dramatically reduce setup time for complex products by auto-generating product attributes, turning hours of configuration into just minutes.

These tools don’t just save time. They eliminate errors, ensure consistency, and help print businesses move with speed and confidence.

Operating smarter in uncertain times

Taylor St. Germain, economist at ITR, gave one of the most practical keynotes of the event, offering clarity in the face of economic uncertainty. From shifting demand patterns to supply chain volatility, his message was clear: resilience starts with better systems.

At GelatoConnect, we see that every day. With our Procurement module, PSPs benefit from aggregated buying power, giving them access to material costs up to 20% lower than they’d typically negotiate on their own. Meanwhile, our Logistics engine helps reduce shipping spend by up to 25% through pre-negotiated carrier rates and automated selection based on SLA, location, and cost.

Smarter logistics also reduce friction downstream: <0.35% error rates and 98% dispatch-on-time performance show what operational control really looks like at scale.

These aren’t just back-end improvements. They’re strategic choices that show up where it matters most: on the P&L.

Building win-win partnerships

One of the strongest themes we felt at Dscoop was this: nobody grows alone. Our customers aren’t just improving their own operations, they’re contributing to a smarter, more efficient ecosystem for their suppliers, their clients, and each other.

That’s the power of connected procurement and logistics. And it’s why GelatoConnect is focused on building platforms that enable not just cost savings, but collaborative advantage.

And yes—we served gelato

Some came for the demos, others stayed for the ice cream. Serving our namesake treat has become a bit of a tradition at trade shows—and for good reason. It’s more than a crowd-pleaser. It’s a conversation starter, a smile trigger, and a symbol of what we believe: great technology doesn’t have to feel cold.

Looking ahead

Dscoop Edge 2025 wasn’t just a gathering. It was a reflection of where our industry is and where it’s headed next.

To those who stopped by, shared feedback, or challenged us to do more: thank you. You make us better. And we’re proud to be building the future of print with you.
