The position

As one of the fastest-growing print-on-demand platforms, we are continuously expanding our product portfolio to serve more customers. We are looking for an experienced project lead to drive our operational expansion for new categories in 30+ markets and achieve our commercial vision.

In this role you will be leading the planning, launch, and growth of a specific product category at Gelato (for example home decor or wall art), assessing the customer demand/total addressable market and building a category strategy to deliver optimal product and customer experience.

You will be working cross-functionally with our print/production partners and engineering teams to implement this category strategy, translating those commercial requirements into technical requirements. Collaborating with our regional managers, you will onboard print partners to these new product categories, refining the requirements as you go to improve operational efficiency and production quality. You will be owning P&L and operational responsibilities and play a critical role in Gelato’s growth by bringing more products onto our platform.

What you'll be doing

Strategy development: In this role you will be leading the entire product expansion process from strategy development to execution. You will be scanning the competitive landscape and analyzing customized production industry trends to determine the product categories and variations needed to expand Gelato’s global portfolio.

Partnership management: You will also be establishing new partnerships by identifying key partners (new and existing) for personalized production, engaging in commercial negotiations, and supporting technical set up, overseeing the implementation through to order fulfilment and delivery.

Category ownership: From there you will look for areas to both improve product category breath, speed, and availability while growing our partner base in strategic markets. You will have end to end (commercial through to operational) responsibilities and work cross-functionally across the organization to build and scale key product categories.

You are an established project lead who has worked in an eCommerce environment. You are curious, and seek to learn and constantly improve. You are driven by customer obsession and operational excellence. You are ambitious and self-directed. You are extremely data-savvy. You are an excellent communicator, equally confident in engaging external and internal audiences at all levels. Some additional experiences and traits we are looking for in a top candidate are:

  • Graduate degree (MBA preferred) with a strong academic performance from a top tier university.
  • Strategic perspective and operational attention to detail.
  • Experience in global operations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Data analysis skills with the ability to interpret and use this to make informed decisions.
  • Experience in high volume e-commerce environments with complex logistical operations is strongly preferred.
  • A skilled people manager with the ability to motivate and drive high performance.
  • Ability to see what needs to get done independently and mobilize multi-functional teams to deliver.
  • Passionate. You get excited about analyzing data and driving defect reduction, process improvement, and tool enhancements.
